It's important to remember that minor children receiving CR2 or IR2 visas must be unmarried and not in official marriages.
Unfortunately, CR2 and IR2 visas are only intended for minor children (under 21 years of age) of U.S. citizens who wish to reunite with their parents. If your child is over 21 years old, they can no longer use these visa types.
Instead, there are other immigration categories for reuniting with adult children, such as F2B visas (for unmarried adult children of U.S. citizens or LPRs over 21 years old) or F3 visas (for married adult children of U.S. citizens), among others. These categories may involve long waiting times and have their own specific requirements and conditions.
Green card holders (permanent residents of the United States) cannot use the CR2 and IR2 visas for their children. These types of visas are intended for children of U.S. citizens.
